Is Sugar Making You Stupid?

sugar-cubesOk. This really blew my mind and there’s no way knowing this won’t positively help you. Before you satisfy your next “sweet tooth,” check out (keep reading)

what it’s doing to your brain.

Here’s what happened:

Basically, two groups of mice were fed high fructose, which is the type of sugar most common in the food most Canadians eat (chips, cookies, French fries, cereal, soda—you get the picture).

One of the two group of mice were also fed some brain supporting Omega-3′s to see if the sugar could be counteracted.

Before the mice were fed the sugars and Omega 3 they spent five days learning their way through advanced mazes. After they figured the mazes out they ate a high fructose diet for six weeks.

Now here comes the interesting part. After eating all that sugar they couldn’t remember how to make it through the mazes!

Researches said the group of mice that only had the high fructose (the kind of sugar Canadians love) was slower. Their brain cells had trouble signaling each other, which made it difficult to think clearly and recall the route they’d learned six weeks earlier.

Think about it.

Sure, it’s easy to say you like sweets and you don’t care that it sticks to your belly and your hips. But, is it really worth eating everyday, now that you see it can “stick” to your mind???

I don’t think so.

Wouldn’t it make sense to keep your mind sharp and get some help breaking your sugar habit?
