Cara Delevingne Net Worth: The Brit Rebel Makes Her Big-Screen Debut in ‘Paper Towns’
Cara Delevingne is about to prove she’s more than just a pretty face. The 22-year-old British model has landed a huge role in her budding acting career as Margo in the upcoming movie “Paper Towns,” which also stars Nat Wolff. Based on the John Green novel, “Paper Towns” releases in theaters on Friday, July, 24.
The model/actress has been making waves since her modeling debut in 2003 and signing with Storm Model Management in 2009. Her naughty antics and constant acts of rebellion — like sticking her tongue out for photos and dropping a suspicious bag of white powder — prompted Karl Lagerfeld to refer to her as the “Charlie Chaplin of the fashion world,” reports the New York Times.
But whether she’s beatboxing on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” or showing off her underwear and abs at Comic-Con, the refreshingly down-to-earth model has captured hearts across the globe. Learn more about Delevingne’s net worth and upcoming projects.
Cara Delevingne Net Worth and Earnings From Modeling
Cara Delevingne’s net worth is currently $12 million, according to CelebrityNetWorth.
Gigs as the face of Burberry beauty and YSL’s cosmetics campaign helped Delevingne make her debut on Forbes’ list of the “World’s Highest-Paid Models” in 2014, with earnings for the year totaling $3.5 million. According to the Telegraph, the model was paid £6,500 per day in 2013, or about $8,000.
In 2015, she’s expected to earn an estimated £2 million — or about $3.1 million — from modeling jobs alone, reports the Daily Mail. And her campaigns for Mulberry, Chanel and more are likely to total approximately $6.25 million this year, according to the Daily Mail. In total, the publication predicts Delevingne will make more than $14 million — not including her upcoming role in “Paper Towns” or inherited wealth.
The model and her sisters, Chloe and Poppy, reportedly also own a few shares of their father’s property company, Harvey White Properties — which is worth approximately $47 million.
Cara’s Breakout Role in ‘Paper Towns’
In “Paper Towns,” Delevingne’s character, Margo, becomes close to her neighbor after finding a dead man’s body. But then Margo goes missing, and her neighbor — played by Wolff — follows a series of bizarre clues to try to find her.
It’s unclear how much Cara Delevingne is being paid for “Paper Towns,” but it doesn’t really matter to the multi-millionaire model. In an interview with the Guardian in late 2014, she said, “People say to me: ‘The money’s probably not enough; it’s not the amount of money you usually get paid.’ And I sit there going: ‘No, that’s not the point. I would pay to do this film because I care about it so much.’”
Delevingne can probably expect a big paycheck with next year’s “Suicide Squad,” though. The movie won’t be released until Aug. 5, 2016, but fans are already clamoring to see the model take on the role of super-villain Enchantress and star alongside Will Smith, Jared Leto, Viola Davis and Ben Affleck.
Like with “Paper Towns,” Delevingne’s salary for her role in “Suicide Squad” hasn’t been revealed yet. Forbes predicts the film’s production budget will be more than $100 million, and since it’s directed and written by David Ayers — whose resume includes “Training Day,” “The Fast and the Furious” and “End of Watch” — a decent turnout at the theaters is expected.
But until then, you can see Delevingne in “Paper Towns” on Friday and “Pan” — starring Hugh Jackman, Garrett Hedlund, Amanda Seyfried and Rooney Mara — on Oct. 9.
